Zekiye Kocarslan is a Istanbul based jewelry designer with her shop Zeckié, in a shopping area Nisantasi (2010).
Her jewellery created by hand, attracts praise for its simplicity of form and spontaneousness. Zeckié has the vision of culminating antique oriental motifs with postmodern materials and trends. Her design is a new interpretation of Artdeco with the geometric forms, Art Nouveau with symbols from nature and waving forms, and of Pop-Art with the stylized animal figures. Her Owl and Bird rings were presented at Colette, Paris.
Graduated from French school Notre Dame de Sion, Zeckié received her university degree in Media Communications at the French Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Subsequently she attended Marangoni School of Design in Milan, where she specialized on accessories. She also worked at jewellery studio Urbano in Milan, she collaborated with Davide de Paoli, Italian sculptor and jewellery designer.
Back to Turkey, she started making her first jewellery collection and selling first at Milan. She has opened her first boutique at Galatasaray after presenting her design at Sieraad Jewellery Fair, Amsterdam (2008).
Besides the shop, Zeckié meet different client base like Istanbul Modern Museum Shop, Pera Museum Shop and Erimtan Museum Shop/Ankara .
Zeckié is known with her square rings, minimalist style and uniquely designed semi-precious stone pieces.
